Not that proud of myself.

With all the drama going on in the Economy, which we all agree sucks. It finally has come to my work place. When it comes down to getting people fired or doing any type of discipline, all the supervisors and my boss (sometimes) turn to me to do it. In the utmost desire to avoid any layoffs, I was forced to by our Region management team. I has to layoff 5 people on Thursday before they even started work. Do you have any idea what it's like to come to work at 2am and have an email that tells you have to do this? And then have to build the muster to go through with it. To add to this dilemma, another 2 were dimissed today. The entire reason for this responsibilty I've been given is I do it straight forward and with realism.
A little back story:
When I started in my current position, I  fired an entire section (8 people) for basically not doing their jobs. I was directed to "clean house" and start with a fresh crew in the building. So I did that. I have since done this. I even had to get rid of supervisors, which isn't my job in any way, but fell on my shoulders for a short time.
It's safe to say that, yes, I am a jerk. I also had lost my heart and  really had no sympathy for anyone at my start of this assignment. Now I have to continue with my present personna and be even more of a jerk. I can't stand  for laziness or excuses any longer. It's sad. My employees fear me, but know I hate having to be stern.
How's this for an up beat blog.
P.S.: Buy a suit. Suits are cool! Suit UP!!!
